    Generic Allegra (Fexofenadine) is the cost-saving alternative to one of the world's most trusted antihistamine. Generic Allegra provides all-day relief of irritating allergy symptoms including: sneezing, running nose and itchy/watery eyes. This best-selling medication provides fast-acting, all day relief of both indoor and outdoor allergies. Generic Allegra may also be marketed as: Fexofenadine, Allegra, Allegra ODT. *Allegra® is a registered trademark of Aventis Pharmaceuticals, Inc.


    Generic Allegra (fexofenadine) is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose. Generic Allegra is used to treat the symptoms of seasonal allergies (hay fever) in adults and children. Generic Allegra is also used to treat skin itching and hives caused by a condition called chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults and children. They need to know if you have any of these conditions: kidney disease an unusual or allergic reaction to fexofenadine, terfenadine, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives pregnant or trying to get pregnant breast-feeding

    How to take

    Take Generic Allegra with a full cup of water. Do not take this medication with fruit juice. Adults and children over the age of 12 are advised to take one tablet once daily. Do not take more than one tablet within a 24-hour period of time. Take this medication on an empty stomach. Take extra care when handling this medication; make sure not to damage the tablet before taking. Keep this tablet in the package before administering. Always handle this tablet with dry hands. This medication is not recommended for children under 12 years of age. Those over the age of 65 years are advised to consult a doctor before taking this medication. Take this medicine by mouth with a full glass of water. You may take this medicine with food or on an empty stomach. Take your medicine at regular intervals. Do not take it more often than directed. You may need to take this medicine for several days before your symptoms improve. Talk to your pediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. While this drug may be prescribed for children as young as 6 years old for selected conditions, precautions do apply.

    Side effects

    Do not take this medication if you are also taking aluminum or magnesium antacids. Consult your doctor if you have a history of kidney disease before taking this medication. This medication may contain aspartame. Patients who suffer from phenylketonuria (PKU) or diabetes should take extra precautions to read the ingredients on the label to ensure that this medication does not contain aspartame or phenylalanine.     Drug interactions

    Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you regularly use other medicines that make you sleepy (such as cold or allergy medicine, sedatives, narcotic pain medicine, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, and medicine for seizures, depression, or anxiety). They can add to sleepiness caused by Generic Allegra. Tell your doctor about all other medicines you use, especially: ketoconazole (Nizoral); or erythromycin (E.E.S., EryPed, Ery-Tab, Erythrocin, Pediazole).
